Gurgaon: Two thieves stole an iPhone from the car of a private company employee after stopping her vehicle near Centro Mall on MG Road accusing her of having caused an accident. As soon as the complainant rolled down the window, the accused picked up the phone kept on the dashboard and fled the spot on their two-wheeler.
In another incident, an 18-year-old Blinkit delivery executive was robbed of Rs 4,500 cash and two cell phones by a co-worker and two others while he was walking next to the railway track after getting down from a train at Gurgaon station on March 22.
Shefali Kaushik, an employee of a telecom company in Sector-18, filed a complaint at DLF Phase-2 police station on Monday evening. She said, "I was returning to my home in Faridabad from the office. Near Centro Mall on MG Road, two men stopped my car and accused me of causing an accident. Startled, I stopped the car and rolled down my window to talk to them. One of them picked up my iPhone 16 Pro Max from the car and they fled."
A case was registered against the unknown offenders under BNS sections 304 (snatching) and 3(5) (common intention).
"No CCTV cameras point to the spot, but we are looking at the footage from nearby places to identify the accused," ASI Lalit Kumar said.
In the other case, Abhishek Pawar was robbed by his co-worker, Sumit, and two others.
"Sumit and two others stopped Abhishek near the Daultabad flyover on March 22 at 11.30pm. They slapped him and stole his valuables, including an iPhone 11 Pro, an Oppo phone, and Rs 4,500 cash," Gurgaon railway police ASI Ravi Kumar said.
Gurgaon railway police registered a case under sections 3(5) (common intention), 309(4) (robbery), and 351(3) (criminal intimidation) of the BNS on Monday night. "The accused are on the run. We are trying to locate them," the ASI said.
